(WSET) — After the President's announcement on student loan forgiveness, you may be wondering, when and where can I apply for the relief?
Well, Delegate Sam Rasoul, who represents Virginia's 11th district, shared that information on Tuesday to Facebook.
Rasoul said the Education Department will release the application for the student loan forgiveness program in early October.
He said If you want to be notified when the form goes live, you can sign up at studentaid.gov.
Applications for forgiveness will take about 4-6 weeks to be processed, Rasoul said.
Rasoul recommends that you apply by November 15 so that your balance is updated before the payment pause ends on December 31.
You have until December 31 to apply for the student loan forgiveness. Rasoul also said Virginia will not tax forgiven student loans as income.
